| The
biggest part of this site is dedicated to travelers,
divers and traveling lovers in general.
As you go through the pages of this site,
you will find stories, articles, some good deals and pictures
about my past trips in this big world of ours. To start with,
I will
take you to Thailand (Phuket) where I’ve spent a
bit over four years (2003-07). I went there to do my IDC course
and become a diving instructor, planning to stay one or two
months max. But it didn't quite work that way... Anyway, it
allowed me to have a very different life for some time, discover
new things and new people. It also allowed me to go through
incredible experiences such as the 2004
Tsunami (photos).
For the divers and future divers who might be interrested
in visiting Thailand, you might want to learn about Decompression
Illness and recompression
chambers as it is covered way too fast during dive courses.
Today, it also allows me to have a
CV a bit richer and diverse than the usual.
Before I came to Thailand, I spent a
year in Australia where i bought a car for a maximum freedom
and managed to go completely around that big country, following
the seasons to have the longest summer of my life! By having
a well equipped car, I managed to reach some places most people
don't go. This is also where I touched many different casual
jobs from the banana plantations on the west coast to the
huge cattle stations in North West Queensland without forgetting
the fishing trawlers in the North West (to come...)
Being already that far from the old Europe,
I decided at the same time to drop by New
Zealand for two months. I also bought a second hand car
there for the same reasons and camped along the way despite
the cold winter of the South Island. Anyway, it must not have
been that terrible since this is also where I started to dive,
which helped me a lot later and actually brought me to Spain
and later to Thailand. (to come...)
And even before that, in 1999, just
before the military service that was still compulsory in France
at the time, I left to discover southern
Morocco on a push bike, loaded with panniers to carry
all my very basic comfort over 2,500 kilometers during 50
days. This has also been an incredible experience which saw
me coming back fully loaded with amazing memories and post
card like pictures
In the mean time, I am very interested in
your comments and your own stories if you have already had
a chance to spread your wings. Send
me a mail if you have something to tell, a question or
just a comment. And if you have never been out of your boundaries,
I hope this site will give you the will for it as there are
a huge amount of great things to see in our big world that
are really worth it.
There are as many ways to travel as
you can imagine them, each of them having different experiences
to offer. This can vary from spending a week in a five star
resort without going any further than the pool to crossing
the desert by foot and sleeping on the ground.
All that matters is to go out once in a while and set out
to discover what is possible to learn from all these people
who share the same planet and do not always do things our
way...
